The commission generally meets once a month on a Wednesday from 3 to 5 pm. The commission does not meet in December. Meetings typically take place in Committee Room No. 1 at 3rd Floor, City Hall, 453 West 12th Ave. Meetings are open to the public.
Most of the work of the Commission is done in committees, established from time to time by the Commission, and generally in connection with a project. Committees generally meet bi-weekly, or based on the requirements of the project.
Committee members research topics and prepare briefs for consideration by the Commission have included workshops, conferences, speaker presentations and idea competitions.
Commissioners are expected to dedicate four to six hours per week for meetings and for additional work for the Commission, including participation in committee work. As many Commission activities occur during working hours, Commission members need flexibility in their schedules in order to participate fully.
